Suchi Iyengar is a therapeutic art facilitator and creative wellbeing practitioner who supports children and women to build emotional resilience, confidence and self-expression through guided art experiences.

She creates a safe, supportive environment where individuals can explore their emotions in a gentle and engaging way, particularly when those feelings may be difficult to put into words. Her sessions combine creativity with therapeutic intent, helping participants feel calm, capable and proud of what they create.

Suchi works with children and women across a range of areas, with a particular interest in:

  • supporting children aged 7–16
  • emotional regulation and anxiety
  • building confidence and social skills
  • mindfulness-based art practices
  • women’s mental wellbeing.

Her approach incorporates visually engaging techniques such as textured painting, dot mandala and guided acrylic painting, allowing participants to enjoy both the creative process and a sense of achievement.

Suchi brings a multidisciplinary background across child psychology, counselling, coaching and creative therapeutic practices. Her qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Arts (Child Psychology) – Bangalore University, 2000
  • Master of Human Resource Management – Griffith University, 2005
  • Art Therapy Practitioner Certificate – 2025
  • Diploma of Counselling (currently in progress, expected 2026)
  • Neurodivergent Coach Certificate (expected 2026)

She is also a student member of the Australian Counselling Association and is committed to ongoing professional development in art therapy and mindfulness-based practices.

Suchi has developed and delivered art therapy-inspired programs for children and women, as well as mindfulness-based workshops. Her background in corporate consulting allows her to design structured, goal-oriented programs while maintaining a warm and creative therapeutic approach.

Her passion for this work began through her own experience of the calming and grounding effects of painting. As a mother, she developed a strong interest in supporting children’s mental wellbeing in a way that feels accessible, creative and non-clinical.

Suchi finds it especially rewarding to see participants grow in confidence and move from feeling overwhelmed to calm and capable.

Outside of her work, she enjoys creating acrylic paintings, exploring new art techniques, and spending time with her family.
