Dr Peter Snelling

Dr Peter Snelling is a Woolloongabba paediatrician specialising in general paediatrics and paediatric emergency care. He provides expert, compassionate, family-centred care for children from birth through adolescence, supporting their growth, health, and development.

Dr Peter Snelling is an experienced paediatrician in Woolloongabba, Brisbane, providing comprehensive care for children from infancy through their teenage years. He specialises in general paediatrics and paediatric emergency medicine, offering holistic, family-centred support for acute illnesses, developmental concerns, and overall child wellbeing.

Peter completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (2002) and his Medical degree with Honours (MBBS, 2006) at the University of Queensland. He undertook paediatric training at Mater Children’s Hospital and Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane, finishing with a Senior Registrar role at Nambour General Hospital, and completed his Fellowship in General Paediatrics (FRACP) in 2015. He is continuing dual training in Paediatric Emergency Medicine and is undertaking a Paediatric Emergency Fellowship at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.

Peter is also completing a Masters in Public Health and Tropical Medicine, reflecting his interest in global child health, including experience in Bangladesh and Nepal. He emphasises preventive care to keep children well and out of hospital. Outside of work, Peter enjoys family camping trips and spending time with his young family.
