Her professional experience includes roles such as family practitioner, counsellor, psychotherapist, residential care manager, and school counsellor. Over the years, she has worked with clients in areas such as:

  • Mental health challenges: Supporting individuals aged 5-25 with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse.
  • Family dynamics: Helping families manage conflict, improve communication, and foster stronger relationships.
  • Developmental support: Addressing school refusal, bullying, and academic difficulties.

Melinda’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the Australian Catholic University, an Associate Degree in Social Science (AssocDSocSc) from Heritage College, and a Diploma in Early Education (DipEarlyEd) from TAFE. She is an Accredited Member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is committed to ongoing professional development to ensure she provides the best possible care.

Her passion for social work began with a desire to positively impact people’s lives and a deep curiosity about human behaviour. She finds immense fulfilment in building meaningful connections with her clients and witnessing the positive changes they achieve, from gaining confidence to strengthening their relationships and overall well-being.

Melinda firmly believes in the power of early intervention to improve long-term outcomes and help individuals and families thrive.

Outside of work, Melinda enjoys staying active with her family, taking her dog for walks along the beach, kayaking, camping, and exploring the outdoors. She also appreciates quiet moments with a good book or catching up with friends over coffee.
