Dr Shahin Shahul Hameed

Dr Shahin Shahul Hameed is a general paediatrician who cares for children with a wide range of medical, behavioural and developmental concerns, including neonatal issues.

He works closely with families to provide a holistic approach to care, helping parents navigate both medical and behavioural challenges and supporting children to achieve the best possible outcomes as they grow and develop.

His qualifications include:

• Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – General Paediatrics, 2026
• Doctor of Medicine (MD), DNB, DCH (Paediatrics) – Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, 2012
• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) – Government Medical College, Trivandrum, India, 2007

Dr Hameed has trained and worked in paediatric roles across Australia and overseas.

His recent roles include General Paediatric Fellow at Queensland Children’s Hospital and Logan Hospital. He has also worked as a paediatric registrar across several Queensland hospitals, including Rockhampton, Caboolture and Hervey Bay, and at Queensland Children’s Hospital in CYMHS and infectious diseases. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Paediatric Medical Officer at RIPAS Hospital in Brunei.

He was drawn to paediatrics by the opportunity to support children and their families through illness and development, and to make a long-term difference to a child’s health and wellbeing.

Outside of work, Dr Hameed enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. When he finds a spare moment, he likes to travel and take care of pets.
