Maria Menkens, a paediatrician in Brisbane, offers family-focused care for infants and children, specialising in neonatal health, developmental paediatrics, and early learning support to help children thrive.

Maria graduated with first-class honours in Pharmacy from the University of Queensland in 2000 and later completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Queensland in 2004. She began her career working regionally in Townsville for two years, before returning to Brisbane to undertake her paediatric training at Mater Children’s and Mater Mothers’ Hospitals.

Over the years, Maria has gained extensive experience at leading hospitals across Queensland, including the Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane, Prince Charles Hospital, Nambour General Hospital, and Gympie Hospital. Her main area of practice is general paediatrics, with a special focus on neonates and infants, developmental paediatrics, and early learning difficulties.
