She works closely with children and families to provide long-term support, ensuring every child can reach their full potential.

Dr McGlade uses a self-regulation framework to understand each child’s behaviour, identifying the underlying drivers and guiding strategies that help children stay calm, learn effectively, and achieve personal goals. She works collaboratively with parents, teaching them practical approaches to manage complex behaviours and fostering resilience within the family.

She graduated from Monash University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with Honours, and later became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Paediatrics (FRACP) with dual accreditation in general and community paediatrics. Her clinical experience spans public and private health settings, including work with urban and remote Aboriginal families, and she brings a unique blend of clinical insight, empathy, and family-focused care to every patient. Known for her engaging and practical approach, Dr McGlade also incorporates informal developmental assessments using play-based tools, making her assessments both rigorous and child-friendly.

Dr McGlade considers it a privilege to work with children and families, recognising the trust that parents place in her care. Her compassion, insight, and expertise combine to deliver holistic, trauma-informed support for children with the most complex needs.

Referral and funding:
Families require a referral from a general practitioner to access Medicare rebates, as private health cover or NDIS packages do not apply. Additional support and brokerage funding may be available through Parent Connect, with services in North Brisbane, South Brisbane, and Ipswich.
