Code of Conduct

Paeds in a pod has established a Code of Conduct for Staff, Patients and visitors. Our code of conduct requires us to act in a manner consistent with current community standards and expectations. As healthcare providers we will continually strive to act in a courteous, caring manner and respect your needs.

Our staff, paediatricians and allied health professionals are all working hard to assist parents/guardians and their children with their individual concerns in a context of good clinical care and ethical standards. We expect that all parties communicate and behave in a respectful manner at all times.

We will not tolerate the following:

• Swearing at staff or in the presence of staff/other patients
• Abusive, intimidating or offensive remarks
• Verbal or physical threats
• Racism
• Attending when intoxicated with alcohol and/or drugs
• Damaging or stealing property
• Acting in a manner that is likely to cause harassment or distress to others in the practice
• Abusive, intimidating or threatening emails or telephone communication to our clinicians or administration team

Anyone who carries out the above behaviour via email, text or phone will have their communication ended and their child’s/ward’s will be discharged from care at Paeds in a pod and have their information returned to their GP.

Anyone who carries out the above behaviour in person will be asked to leave our premises and their child’s/ward’s will be discharged from care at Paeds in a pod and have their information returned to their GP.
